The Advanced Music Construction System is probably the most fully featured tool for live and sequenced audio performance. Unlike most other products of this kind, AMCS has dedicated computer and firmware built into a steel 19" rack unit, making it very resiliant to the hostile enviroments of nightclubs, stage and travel. The system firmware boasts a true multi-tasking 256 track editor, mixer and sequencer with fully programmable patch banks which allow AMCS to work with any MIDI compatible device connected to it. |

This project is currently in development and only supports certain ISA soundcards and also only operates under pure DOS due to it handling the computer's hardware directly. But in its current state the unoptimised software weights in at under 20KB and plays with no lag on a 133MHz PC (it may even work on lower spec., we haven't bothered testing it). |
